Strip Turned A Birthday Month Into Nine Reasons To Come Back

Event: Customer Loyalty and Retention Gifting

The Campaign

Most birthday promos end up being the same, you get a discount code for the birthday milestone. Strip instead built theirs around a stamp card where the reward showed up in more than one visit at their spa.

The mechanic was: grab a Bingo card from any Strip outlet during your birthday month. Stamp any 3 boxes in a row, spin the lucky wheel for a shot at limited-edition Strip collectibles. Fill all 9 boxes, redeem a full free AFT session, on the body area of your choice. An AFT is a laser hair removal method that is faster and less painful.

What ties the whole thing together is Strip's mascot is an orangutan named Jenny, built to playfully represent taking on 'prickly situations'. That's a pun. Prickly is exactly what people call the discomfort of waxing itself. And orangutans happen to be one of the hairiest primates alive, head to toe in a thick reddish coat- which makes a hairy animal the face of a hair-removal brand a joke. It's a clever move.

What We Made : Enamel Pins, Coin Pouch & Foldable Bag that can be carried in a bag.

Custom foldable bag, enamel pin, and clear pouch made for Strip Singapore

We gave them- a foldable bag, a clear coin pouch, and an enamel pin all carrying Jenny across them. The plush, rounded illustration style kept the character warm rather than mascot-y. So it read more like a keepsake than a stamp-card afterthought.

The bag runs Jenny as a full all-over print rather than a single logo in the centre, and it folds down into its own built-in pouch, which is a small detail thats easy to skip but means the bag actually gets carried around in other bags. The pin is a soft enamel design, backed with a proper metal butterfly clutch. It's the kind of finish that survives being pinned to a bag or jacket daily instead of falling apart after a few wears. Some sets included a small 'We are 21" pin alongside Jenny, its a nice touch that folds the milestone-birthday idea.

We also kept the top prize scarce on purpose. The lucky wheel redemption only ran at two outlets- Strip ION and Strip Waterway Point, which meant hitting the jackpot tier required an actual trip to a specific location only, not something everyone walking into any Strip could just claim.

Why we think it works

A punch card only works if people want to keep filling it in, and most fail because nothing happens until the very last stamp. Building in a reward at stamp 3 kept the card worth carrying long before anyone got close to the free session. By the time someone hit all 9 boxes, they weren't chasing a freebie anymore; they were finishing something they had already started.
