How to Use Stickers to Promote Your Organizational Culture

Culture is simply a shared way of doing something with a passion.

- Brian Chesky, Co-Founder, CEO, Airbnb

Organizational Culture is defined as the underlying beliefs, assumptions, values and ways of interacting that contribute to the unique social and psychological environment of an organization.

How do stickers come into the Organizational Culture gamut? Can stickers really be used to promote a complex and comprehensive concept such as Organizational Culture?

Stickers are symbolic-they stand for the organization, its brand and can be used to define the vibe of the workplace. They are a vital ingredient in the pre-mix of physical symbols such as name-tags, organization plaques, banners, organization colors and logos, vision statement boards, awards that help build the organizational identity.

Organization leadership and HR can use stickers to motivate and build the attitudes they want to promote across the organization.

Let’s find out how!

1. Use Company Stickers as a part of Onboarding Welcome Kit:

Include company swag such a custom T-shirts, cap, pen, and stickers in your company onboarding kit. This will make the new hires feel welcome and also acquaint them quickly to the company’s culture and values.

At Google, new hires, called as ‘’Nooglers” (new+Google) are made to feel welcome by offering among other goodies, Google-branded T-shirts which read “Class of ______” (year of joining), stickers, HR forms and a shiny new MacBook.

2. Print Organizational Values on Stickers and hand out to Employees:

Want your organizational values to spread across the organization and imbibed by your employees? One of the best ways to make your values go viral is to print them on stickers and distribute it to your employees.

ExactHire, offers HR Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions for hiring and succession planning needs.

They wanted employees to understand and incorporate these values in the work that they do. ExactHire got die cut stickers with the values printed as a word cloud, which employees could stick on their laptops.

3. Stickers for Team Affiliation and Community Building:

Salesforce, is a leading CRM platform. It has a unique community called ‘’Trailblazers” made up of employees, customers, partners, and communities, united by a mutual desire to live Salesforce’s core values: trust, growth, innovation, and equality.

The Trailblazer Community is fanatic about Salesforce stickers. These stickers are handed out around Salesforce HQ in San Francisco and at events, product launches, recreational activities, community meetups, and as rewards and prizes for campaigns.
