Difference between Die Cut Stickers and Kiss Cut Stickers

Stickers are more than a fun item to entertain children with. They are beyond useful for business and should be a part of any marketing plan. The versatility of stickers makes them ideal for more uses than you might imagine, but the key is getting the quality result that properly brands your product. Handing out stickers at an event or putting them into a mailing doesn’t mean they will be proudly displayed where they will promote your business. Besides determining what to put on your stickers, you will also need to understand the difference between die cut stickers and kiss cut stickers.

Die Cut Stickers

Die cut stickers are those that have been cut to the exact shape of the design. There isn’t any extra backing around the sticker. Your customers will like that they can hold up the sticker to where they plan to apply it and see exactly how it will look because there isn’t any border to interfere with the visual effect.

Kiss Cut Stickers

Those sticker sheets that kids love so much are an example of the kiss cut sticker method. With kiss cut stickers, the backing is not cut, only the sticker itself is. This method can be used to have a sheet of stickers but it can also be done one sticker per sheet. There are two ways to use kiss cut stickers. By having a sheet of stickers, they aren’t as conducive to handing out, but they are perfect for those situations where you want to affix a sticker to something you are giving out or selling. For example, putting a sticker on a presentation binder or on packaging.

With single stickers, you can give them out one at a time at events and such just as you would die cut stickers. There are two main advantages of kiss cut stickers for this application. First, because there is a border around the sticker, you can hand write a special message on them before giving it to someone. Secondly, the sticker is easier to get pulled off the backing and the sticker’s edge is more protected. This makes it easier for your customers to use.
